The Holocaust was a very depressing time in history. Hitler believed that the Jews were responsible for many of the worlds problems, especially for Gernany's defeat in World War I. Jews were forcefully taken from their homes, put onto trains, and sent to either working camps or death camps. In death camps they were immediately killed. In the working camps they were worked almost to death and then most of them killed. They would be killed by gas chambers. Around 6 million jews were murdered during this Holocaust. The conditions of camps were unbelievable. The victims were worked and starved; they only had an average of 200 calories daily. Their living quarters were cramped with no soft bedding and disease infested. The elderly and young children were most of the time immediately killed. Men were seperated from the women and children.
